….After his stay at The Cloran Mansion!
We have the bests guests and Elvis the Gnome was just one of our many. Elvis and his friends Steve and Michelle spent a few days with us in Sara’s Suite and he sure did enjoy the place. He sent us a bunch of great pictures to show how much fun and relaxation he had.
We don’t normally approve of our guests standing on the fireplace but what can you say to the King of Rock n Roll.
Well Elvis didn’t just enjoy a dance on the fireplace, shaking those hips that made the girls go crazy because it’s “Now or Never”.
Then he decided to try to get the ladies in our Italian antique lamps to notice him but needless to say they were not into his style of music. They are a bit snobby to say the least and the one in pink is a “Hard Headed Woman”.
After all that dancing around the room he had to relax in the whirlpool tub before enjoying a cup of coffee from one of our Cloran Mansion mugs. Elvis said the King size bed in Sara’s Suite is one that he “Can’t help falling in love” with.
As he checked out he told us that this was no “Heartbreak Hotel” but a “Good Luck Charm” and he would be back soon.
….Well Take the Ski Lift up to Chestnut Mountain.
Chicago and the Midwest have been hit will mountains of snow over the last few days. Kids have enjoyed a snow day or two and some sledding but most of the adults have spent their time digging out, salting, and battling the slick roads and weather stricken traffic conditions. Give yourself a break and head on over to Galena to warm up, relax, drink some wine, and go skiing.
Chestnut Mountain has something for everyone with 19 ski slopes, 3,500-ft run and 475-ft drop of Chestnut Mountain. For the beginner they have Old Main, Bunny, Acorn, and Rookie’s Ridge while you get your ski legs ready.
Intermediate, advanced, and freestyle terrains are also available for the more experienced skiers and snowboarders. From novice to black diamond, riding through 220 acres of Chestnut Mountain will leave you breathless and in love.
Chestnut Mountain’s Far Side Terrain is the Midwest’s largest snow-covered terrain park, and all seven acres of its vastness is accessible through a triple chairlift. Their 25 unique rails will have you entertained for hours. Then come back home to us at The Cloran Mansion for a soak in your hot tub and snuggle up to a warm fire in your room for a romantic evening or a go downtown and enjoy some of the nightlife of Galena.
We can help you set up reservations when you book your stay. We look forward to hearing all about your adventure.
Every year we take one of our rooms and we give it an update. A fresh coat of paint, fresh new colors, cozy new bedspreads, and little loving touches to make our guests feel right at home. This year Ann’s Room was on the list for a little bit of love. After the busy holidays we got to work on her makeover. We chose gorgeous shades of platinum, cream, and goldenrod to enhance the sensual mood that Ann’s Room inspires. A freshly papered wall embraces the blonde hues throughout the wood of the fireplace and cathedral ceiling. The bold slate draperies bring a touch of masculinity to the sweet softness of the pillowy bed below. The double whirlpool tub draws the goldenrod and grey with an adorable shower curtain in the room’s private bath that is sure to soothe the soul and enhance the mood. Ann’s Room is one of our guest favorites and we are sure it will be your favorite too.
Book your romantic getaway soon and enjoy the sweet smells of spring.
We look forward to seeing you.
We love our Bed and Breakfast and it makes our day to hear kind words from our guests after they have had the opportunity to relax and unwind at our Inn. We take great pride in making sure each one of our guests has a memorable stay away from home during their time with us. Here is what one of our guests last week had to say about his visit:
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Cloran Mansion in Galena Illinois this past week. What an awesome experience! The grounds surrounding the beautifully kept Italianate Mansion were pristine. The Inn itself was beautiful down to every detail. Our room had a fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD and its own bathroom. The bedding was superb. We were right next to the parlor that shelved hundreds of DVDs – a movie for anyone’s taste.
The breakfast was great in quantity and quality. The pumpkin pancakes were the best I ever tasted.
The friendliness and care provided by the Innkeepers, Cheryl and Carmen made this our best B&B experience ever!
