Holiday Progressive Dinner

A Tasty Treat Through Town

Many people wonder what a progressive dinner is.  A progressive dinner is a meal that consists of different courses at different locations.  Here in Galena the Bed and Breakfast Community has joined together to offer a unique dinner experience at several Inns.  The Cloran Mansion has participated in progressive dinners for over 10 years and we love the opportunity to open our dining room to the guests for a tasty treat.  One of the wonderful things about the December Dinner is that all of the Inns will be decorated for the holidays making it especially festive.  This years Holiday Progressive Dinner will be on December 2nd from 5 pm to 8:15 pm.

While on the dinner tour the guests will travel to an Inn for a course of amazing appetizers, a mouth watering main course of a mixed green salad with diced pears and vinaigrette, Spinach and Red Pepper Pork Roulade with Herb Roasted Red Potatoes, Apple Sauce, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Rustic Bread, and a delicious holiday dessert.  The Inns will not be serving alcohol but guests are welcome to BYO, just remember to select a designated driver!  Tickets for the Progressive Dinner are available now for $60 a person with a $5 discount for Guests of a Best of Galena Property but will sell out quickly.  Book your reservation at the Cloran Mansion to receive your discounted tickets and we can order your dinner tickets.  If you are staying at another Inn or traveling in for the dinner call Lorraine at 815-777-0893 for tickets.

We look forward to dining with you!

Our 99th Newlyweds

October 1, 2012 by Cheryl Farruggia

Mark Imerman and Patricia West could not have chosen a more perfect day.  The sky was clear and a beautiful shade of blue.   An autumn breeze was slow and gentle and Patricia made her way to the Heart Arbor to meet her soon to be husband.   Mark’s son Nick and Patricia’s daughter, Laura were present to witness the ceremony.  Couple #99 said their I do’s on September 26.   After the ceremony the new family had dinner together, toasted champagne and shared wedding cake.  We wish them our best today and always.

Some love stories as beautiful as they maybe follow a typical story line, boy meets girl, they fall in love…..

Sean and Katie share a unique love story of their own, but the ending for this lovely couple will surely be happily ever after as well.  Together with their family and Kate’s Best Friend and Maid of Honor they shared their vows and joined as husband and wife.  After the ceremony the newlyweds enjoyed a dinner reception and a toast to their future.

Congratulations to The Robbins!
