If I had to describe our first month it would be very simple, Scared, Broke, Amazed and today I would just say Still Amazed and absolutely no regrets. It’s been an incredible 11 years.  We were married only 2 weeks before we opened, moved from a major city to a minor city and into a business that I knew absolutely nothing about.  To this day I have never spent the night at any other Bed and Breakfast, but I didn’t need to, my guests have taught me everything. So many guests have touched our lives and I hope that we have touched theirs as well.  So many people have arrived here as guests and left as friends, many are almost like family. We have had thousands of guests in our 11 years and although I cannot remember all of them, many of them will always be in our hearts. We have had all kinds of people here from school bus drivers, teachers, technical people, factory workers, politicians, producers,and Secret Service, but they have all had one common element, a mini break. They are all just normal people looking for a small break from everyday. We have had 97 weddings to date, 66 engagements on the property and 5 renewal of vows and a commitment ceremony. Each one has brought us wonderful memories. We have had guests who arrived while dating, returned as an engaged couple, returned again as a married couple and returned again to show us their new baby.  We love the Christmas cards and baby picture that we receive each year. We have made some incredible friends here, lifelong friends.  You cannot put a price on that. We have had the opportunity in the past 11 years to become part of the community.  Cheryl has been the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers ofGalena, a Director on the Hospital Board and advisor on various committees.  I have been the President of the Bed and Breakfast Innkeepers of [...]

That can only mean one thing – spring is here! We’re already busy preparing the garden for our wonderful guests to enjoy. Enjoy the tranquility of our pond. Let the sound of the waterfall soothe you while you gaze at our many Koi fish as they elegantly drift back and fourth. Relax in our screened-in gazebo with views of our beautiful garden. This is a popular site of many engagements and weddings we’ve been honored to host. Take in the smells and admire the beauty of a variety of flowers that grow in our garden.
